Anita Kora is originally from Nain, Nunatsiavut, the most easterly Inuit region in Canada. Now residing in Ottawa, she is currently the Librarian-Archivist for Inuit Qaujisarvingat (Inuit Knowledge Centre) at Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami (ITK), the national Inuit advocacy organisation in Canada. Anita has worked both in the museum and archival professions, and has an interest in ensuring the appropriate representation of Inuit, as well as a passion for preserving, reclaiming, and revitalising Inuit cultural knowledge for the benefit of communities across Inuit Nunangat (Inuit homeland). She is a graduate of the University of British Columbia Master of Archival Studies program, and has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in archaeology. Anita is currently finalising the ITK Library’s policies and procedures to better service ITK and ITK’s partners as well as the Inuit community. In conjunction, she is also planning and laying the foundations for the ITK Archives.
